Crist signs controversial health care bill - South Florida Business Journal:

http://pishtazkhorshid.com/article/Suzlon-subsidiary-to-sell-35-stake-in-Hansen.html
SB 1122 changes the way insurancse companies pay for coverage of patientz ininsurance networks. It will allow doctord who are not members of a preferred provider organizatiob to be paid directly by insurance companies when they treat patients who belong to sucha plan. Last month, a groul of advocates for workers, consumersx and employers joined forces to ask the governor not to pass the which they claim will result in higher andunexpecteed out-of-pocket health care costs.
“We believd this legislation would raisew costs systemwide by undermining the abilith of insurers to negotiate reasonables feeswith physicians, causing higher insurance ratesd and higher out-of-pocket medical bills for Florida Florida PIRG’s Brad Ashwell said at the time. the is applauding the governor’ss decision to sign the bill. “While routingf the payment through the patient may seem like aminofr inconvenience, unfortunately, this practice is drivingh up the cost of health care, imposinyg hidden fees and limiting access,” said Timothg J.
Stapleton, FMA’s executive vice president, in a news “This common-sense legislation will put a stop to and allow physicians to spend more time and resourcezon direct-patient care.”
