Monsanto, BASF announce breakthrough in drought-resistant corn development - Triangle Business Journal:

The companies said they would use the gene to developothe world’s first biotechnology-derived drought-toleranty crop. Chemical company BASF is basefin Ludwigshafen, Germany. Creve Coeur, Mo.-based Monsanto Co. (NYSE: led by Chairman, President and CEO Hugh develops insect- and herbicide-resistant crops and other agricultural products. It is one of the largestt employersin St. Louisa with 4,000 local employees.
