The long-time Willow Glen resident and businessmansaid he’s still attempting to secure financing to buy the 2,500-square-foot storde at 1330 Lincoln Ave. in downtowbn Willow Glen even after an earlier deal to do sofell “I could not find adequatde financing,” Vierra said of a previous attemptf to strike a deal with former book stores owner, Cathy Adkins. She decides to sell her 17-year-old shop a year earlier than originallgy planned because of decreasing salew and having to grapple withhealtn issues. But Vierra, owner of Floorintg Forenics, a San Jose flooring consulting firm, said he’ws not giving up.
He’s stilll trying to secure a commerciakl bank loan or attract the interesrof investors. “I am so close to my childhoof dream of owning abook store,” he said. “This is something I have alwaysx wantedto do. I have gotten great support from the bookselling community and the Willow Glen communitgy is willing to supporta local, independenty book store. It has a great reputationh throughout SantaClara County.” Adkins held a going-out-of-businesa sale and finally closed its doors in late May, but said at the time she hoped to pass the ownership baton to Vierra. But sincwe then, the store has been closed anda “forr lease” sign put up in its window.
